Delete your Gaggle account

Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account

Gaggle gives you full control over your account. You can start a deletion request directly from the app:

  1. Open the Profile tab and tap the Settings gear.
  2. Choose Account and select Delete Account.
  3. Review the checklist, tap Delete Account, and confirm with Delete Forever.
  4. Approve the confirmation dialog. Once accepted, the request is queued immediately and you will lose access as soon as processing finishes.

Reminder: Account deletion is permanent. It can take up to 24 hours for the automated job to finish deleting your data. You will receive an email confirmation once the process is complete.

What gets deleted

Our deletion service removes both your personal profile and the content you created that is tied to your account. The process is handled by an automated job and includes:

  • Profile details – your name, email address, profile photo, subscription status, and other personal settings stored on your user record.
  • Flight history – every flight recording in our databases plus the raw recording files associated with those flights.
  • Privacy relationships – followers you previously approved to see your live location, observers of your activity feed, and any related privacy preferences.
  • Routes and navigation data – saved routes, downloaded airspaces, and the trail breadcrumbs stored with those routes.
  • Equipment – wings, motors, Bluetooth devices, and any equipment service logs you added.
  • Groups and shared routes – your membership in groups, meetups, and shared-route collaborations. Admin rights are reassigned to keep groups functional before your membership is removed.
  • Mailing lists – your email is unsubscribed from all Gaggle marketing lists so you stop receiving promotional emails.

After these steps, your user document in our database is deleted.

What is anonymized or retained

Some information must stay in the system so that shared experiences remain consistent for other pilots and so that we meet legal requirements:

  • Public presence – your public profile remains but is renamed to “Deleted Pilot” with the profile image cleared. This ensures past conversations, leaderboards, or shared content no longer display your personal details while keeping historical context intact.
  • Community content – items you posted to shared areas (for example, group chats, site guides, or obstacle submissions) remain visible to other members, but they will now attribute the contribution to “Deleted Pilot”.
  • System logs & backups – infrastructure logs and encrypted backups are removed on their normal rotation, which can take up to 90 days after the deletion request, as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
  • Billing records – payment providers may retain receipts or tax invoices for the legally required period. Cancel any active subscription before you delete your account to prevent additional charges.

Need help without the app?

If you can’t access the profile screen (for example, you lost your device), email [email protected] from the address tied to your Gaggle account. Our support team can verify your identity and manually submit the deletion request on your behalf.
